He is risen!

I know I'm a little late, but I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter and felt the true blessing the holiday represents.

Dustyn and I spent the weekend with both sides of the family- D's family on Saturday and my family on Sunday. And what would a family gathering be without the food you ask?? Well I don't know what it would be other than a bunch of hungry folks... But luckily we know how to do family gatherings right!!

I was in charge of desserts for Saturday. I made peanut butter cookies, brownies, and strawberry punch bowl cake.

Ok, so I have to admit it. I cheated on the brownies and cookies. The brownies were from a box and the cookies were from premade cookie dough.

This one here was my favorite. I made it with 2 layers each of pound cake, strawberry Jello, freshly picked strawberrys, and whipped cream.

Speaking of freshly picked strawberries, strawberry picking was part of my weekend, also. I went with the ladies of the Miller family Friday evening to Elliott Farms to do some pickin'.

Sunday I made a veggie tray with dip, a fruit tray (also using my fresh straberries!) with dip, and dirt cake..

I forgot to take pictures of everything but the dirt cake...oops!

It was truely a great weekend and I am blessed in soooo many ways!!!

***Edit***

Since my camera was lost for most of Easter, I asked Katie to send me some of the pictures from Sunday. I could not call this an Easter post with out including my brother and sister-in-law's home and the beautiful spread they created for us to enjoy.

This little light of mine...

I'm gonna let it shine!

I love love love the way my $10 lamps from Cash Liquidators turned out.

I know the picture isn't super, but that'll have to do until they're put into their new spot.

I used Krylon's Bahama Sea spray paint. That stuff worked great on these lamps! I had to do multiple thin coats to get all the nooks and crannies these guys have. At times I would over spray an area and think that I was going to have to go back and sand the run, but this stuff is so great the runs disappear!!

So two $10 lamps, a can of spray paint, and two drum shades from Target later, I have a couple lights of mine that I'm gonna let shine!!

I've been framed II (Update)

So you know how I said I needed to place these decals around those frames?

Well I did it. Here's the progress of the trees "growing."

I'm pretty happy with the results. As I was placing all of the branches and leaves, I was worried about how true the repositional claim on the packaging was. It turned out to be true! I  had to play around with the branches and move them a couple times to decide where they needed to be located. Each time I moved one it came off easily and stuck back on quite well. I'm super glad I picked the pack up with the $9.99 price tag on one of my visits to Home Goods!!

I've been framed

I'm sure as most of you already know, Dustyn has put me on a picture frame buying ban. I'm hoping that if I find bare walls for all of my current stack of picture frames in our home, I can one day indulge my picture frame buying self and purchase the Family Tree Wall Verbs set from BB&B. Here's three down!

So I put these frames..

...on this wall...

...and now I need to place these stickers around those frames.

I got the blues.

I'm really starting to think everything in my house is going to be blue, green, or some variation of the two. What's a blue/green lovin' girl to do??

I mean, I'm really digging my new-to-me $10 coffee table in a lovey coat of Bahama Sea.

I guess I have the blues, but it's sure a sweet tune....

Who dresses the Hulk in argyle?

I do.

I picked this guy up at my favorite liquidations place for $99 and dressed him in paint that I already had. I also kept the current knobs. I'm tickled by the outcome!

I ♥ TJ

TJ Maxx that is. I T-totally love some snags I got at TJ Maxx and Hobby Lobby today. The rug, from HL, will actually be staying right where it is (all the things around it just have to change!), and the other nicknacks will be spread around the house accordingly.

A front porch face lift

Another older, but not too old, project from my parents' house.

Before

One of two old unwated chairs that just needed a bit of spray paint.

The matching table.

Sorry about the photo quality. I took these pictures at night.

A headboard built for a king....

....but purchased by a pauper... for less than 3 dollars!!

                                                Before

If you can't believe the price, I have proof...

After

Since the headboard started off a blonde color wood, I spraypainted the edges with a brown color so once I painted it white and lightly distressed the edges the darker color would show through.

Wooden Planter

This is another older project at my parents' house.

The start of the flower box.

I'm all about reusing! These 1"x4"s came from the part of the garage that was demoed

Pre paint.

Ta-da!!

BTW: Half of the Purple Pixie is still alive!!
